Gruesome murders always draw an audience, and the tale of John Tornow (AKA “Beast-Man”) is no exception. The story of his life and the manhunt leading to the gun battle where he was killed have fascinated people for more than a century. Come hear a lecture about how this “man of the forest,” who was able to kill at least six men and then elude his captors for months, terrorized Mason County residents and became a regional sensation in 1913. Sponsored by the Mason County Historical Society at the Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club on Sunday, February 10, at 3pm.
